Lemonade Day ‘Best Tasting Contest’ is May 17, 2014 at Young Americans Bank

Join the Metro Denver Lemonade Day Organization and Support the Children of the Community

DENVER, COLO., May 9, 2014 – Denver Metro Lemonade Day is hosting its annual ‘Best Tasting Content’ on May 17, 2014 from 12-2pm at Young Americans Bank, 3550 E. 1st Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80206. This fun-filled family event will spotlight lemonade stands from children throughout the community for a chance to win either first, second or third place awards from a panel of celebrity judges.

This event provides youth with the opportunity to run their own business and show off their unique lemonade recipe to our judges. Celebrity judges include: restaurateur/entrepreneur of TAG and Guard & Grace, Troy Guard; local purveyor of pork, Tender Belly owner Shannon Duffy; and the Youth Advisory Board President at Young Americans Bank.

This is a unique opportunity for active, outgoing youth and their families to showcase their lemonade and participate in an exclusive promotion and be recognized by the community.

Lemonade Day is a national organization designed to teach children entrepreneurial skills through starting, owning and operating their own business, a lemonade stand. Children throughout the country attend hands on entrepreneurial and life skills training side by side with an adult mentor and then, one day each year, put into practice the entrepreneurial skills they’ve learned by operating their own lemonade stand.

Last year over 150,000 children from 36 cities participated in the Lemonade Day event. The national organization recently formed a partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs and, as a result of this partnership, it’s expected that over one million children from 100 cities will be participating in Lemonade Day in the coming years.
